MultiPhy Ignites the Data Center Connectivity Market with the World's First 100G Single-Wavelength PAM4 DSP IC

ECOC Tradeshow, Gothenburg Sweden, Sept. 18, 2017 – MultiPhy Ltd, a global market leader in DSP-based mixed signal high-bandwidth communications semiconductors for data center connectivity, today announced the availability of the MPF3101 chip, the worlds’ first 100G single-wavelength PAM4 DSP IC. Designed for data center and 5G Cloud RAN connections, the device delivers a comprehensive 100G single-wavelength solution enabling widespread market adoption. The MPF3101 chip and its development system have already been delivered to key customers worldwide and will be presented at the company’s partners’ Semtech booth 132 at the ECOC 2017 Exhibition in Gothenburg, Sweden, September 18-20, 2017.

The MPF3101 chip delivers best-in-class performance, power, and small footprint, enabling rapid design and deployment of cost-effective 100G connections in data center and cloud RAN applications. The device includes leading-edge digital signal processing and mixed-signal cores, driving PAM4 single wavelength technology. It reduces the number of optical components, and eases opto-electronic bandwidth requirements, representing a major opportunity for data center operators to reduce expenses and power footprint. Furthermore, the device can be used in industry-standard QSFP28 optical modules, significantly increasing port density and paving the way for smaller form factors and onboard optic solutions.
